What a B-e-a-utiful Wedding Day!! — Raindrops and All!
Lila and Brandon’s Special Day at Gillbrook Farms was one of those days that reminded me why I love what I do!! Even though the weather had Amanda stressing a bit -- and unfortunately rain did make a surprise appearance -- this venue -- and of course our AMAZING couple did not miss a beat! What I enjoyed the most about Brandon and Lila is that they never let the R-Word ruin their day! As you'll be able to tell from their photos they were happy to be in L-O-V-E and happy to be together!! Nothing could wipe the smiles off of their faces!! -- which is a true testament to the happiness that they share with one another!
The great thing about Gillbrook Farms is that there were plenty of covered spots for portraits -- and honestly -- most of those rainy-day shots ended up being some of my favorite photos of the day!!
So Many Photo Spots in EVERY Direction!
Let me be the first to tell you that -- Gillbrook Farms is packed with photo opportunities!! What was PERFECT for us was that there were several different locations that were covered! -- which came in super handy when it was raining! Lila and her girls were able to get ready in the Guest Cottage which was decorated to perfection and we were able to get a bunch of photos of her and her amazing bridesmaids!!
There was a covered spot leading to the ceremony location that I loved for the Rustic Charm Amanda and I are really all about! Sometimes the rustier and dirtier -- the better for us!
But our FAVORITE covered spot that came in SUPER handy on this rainy June day was the Corn Crib! <3<3<3<3<3 Everything about the Corn Crib at Gillbrook Farms got me and Amanda excited!! I mean -- Lila and Brandon made our job easy by being the incredible models that they are but -- sheeeeesshhh!! Did these photos spark every type of creativity in my bones!! Don't believe me?? -- See for yourself!!
Once the rain passed -- we wandered the property and found one great backdrop after another!! — open fields, small ponds with great reflections, weeping willow trees -- beautiful rustic touches everywhere!!
What I like best about this venue is that it makes it easy to take photos and to give the couples a ton of variety without ever having to leave the property!
The Ceremony Space is -- unforgettable!
Lila and Brandon said their vows under the Willow Tree -- and it was absolutely stunning!! It is probably one of the best ceremony spots that I have seen! It is peaceful, unique, and seriously beautiful in photos!! That willow gives everything a soft, natural feel that really works!!
Rustic Charm -- that’s done right!
The whole vibe at Gillbrook Farms is warm, inviting, and perfectly rustic! Which is right up Amanda and I's alley! The barn is beautiful for receptions -- cozy but open, with great light and space for guests to relax and have fun! And the way the venue is laid out just makes sense -- Everything flows together perfectly!
A venue built for couples -- and photographers!
What really stood out to me was how versatile the venue is! Even with the weather not fully cooperating -- Amanda and I never felt limited! That kind of flexibility is HUGE! Especially on Wedding Day's when you cannot control what Mother Nature has in store for the day! Gillbrook Farms truly feels like it was designed with photographers (and couples!) in mind in case the ever dreaded R-word happens!!
